DOMINANT BLUES NOTCH THIRD WIN ON BOUNCE

A dominant 90 minutes from Chelsea to notch a third win on bounce and keep a spot in top four after all the big boys won another game earlier in today’s game.

The score board does not reflect the overall performance but the Blues got overall control in game and played with their full energy. There was an incorrect offside call, a couple missed sitters and one tremendous save by Begovic kept the Blues to just one goal by Eden Hazard after six minutes after half time (51 mints) scored. A brilliant performance by Cesar Azplicueta by blocking the side not letting the rivals to score which resulted a clean sheet at the end of the game.

It does not feel quite secure while having a single goal but the Blues fight well and match ended by gaining all the 3 points back to Stamford Bridge.

GOOD NEWS EVERYWHERE!

After a strong performance against Everton last night, Antonio Conte gave good news to the fans. NGolo Kante who injured his hamstring during the international breaks with France is soon to return to full fitness. He is expected to be back in 7 days to face Roma. But Conte has hinted caution in his return as the boss does not want to rush and burn because he is vital to Chelseas title defence and Champions League hopes. This news came after Danny Drinkwater, the summer acquisition from Leicester City, played his first professional game with Chelsea against Everton in the Cup. Youngster Ampadou did well as well against the Toffees ensuring that Chelsea’s central midfield is well grilled for the season ahead.

COURTOIS ADMITS PLAYERS TO FIGHT BACK FOR CONTE’S JOB!

While talking to Standard Sport, he said that “We are ready to fight for our coach's job. I cannot forget what happened two years back when we were playing under the supervision of Mourinho.

We are happy to show that we are ready to fight back. The players know what would happen next if we had lost against Watford.
There was a moment when the team was 2-1 down, we were having difficulties and Watford could have made it 4-1. Winning the game was too important to be back and save the coach’s job.
2 years back in 2015 under supervision of Mourinho we wanted to fight back as well but the game didn’t turn out well for us and there was too much bad luck. Sometimes different things happened.
Nevertheless we are showing fans what we are capable of i.e. to win the games by any means. We don’t want to lose & we want to fight for ourselves because it is important for us too.”

During the matches they burst to shout out my name, and me and my players want to give them the satisfaction to our fans because they deserve this.”

A FRESH BREATH OF LIFE!

After another tough afternoon in the premier league against a very good Watford team, Chelsea and Antonio Conte got a fresh breath of life both immediately and in the long run. 2 goals from the super sub Michy Batshuayi and 1-1 goal from each Azpilicueta and Pedro ensured 3 points for Chelsea. The result lifts the pressure from Conte’s shoulder after talks of 5 match ultimatum and a sacking emerged during the week. Man Utd’s shocking loss to Huddersfield also brought Chelsea back in the race for the title though Man City won its match against Burnley and seems uncatchable at the top for now. A draw or a Spurs loss tomorrow will be a good end to the week for Chelsea.

FINDING SOLUTIONS…!

With the 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 formation failing in all but the Atletico game, its time Conte should switch to a more conventional 4-3-3 formation. Watford game could be the perfect stage for a little experiment. This formation should see Courois in goal, Zappacosta, Rudiger, Cahill, Azpilicueta in defence, Luiz, Bakayoko, Fabregas in midfield and Hazard, Pedro, Morata up front. This formation will give Chelsea more solidity and cover at the back and will also allow the front 3 to improvise without having to track back a lot. Conte should know that many managers are now familiar with his tactics. Its time Conte becomes a little unpredictable. #WatChe

THE CONTE CONUNDRUM

After another disappointing performance against Roma, Antonio Conte is left with more questions to resolve than ever before. The Kante Fabregas partnership in a 3-4-3 formation isn’t working. The Kante Bakayoko Fabregas partnership in a 3-5-2 formation isn’t working. Playing 8 players to protect the goal isn’t working as well as Chelsea is leaking highest number of goals for the first time in Conte era. The recent reports suggest that Abramovic has given 5 game ultimatum to Conte to resolve all issues or else he will face the sack. Was Ancelloti’s presence at Stamford Bridge last night a sign of things to come?

CONTE BEMOANS LACK OF DEPTH… AGAIN!

Chelsea manager Antonio Conte has once more bemoaned the lack of depth at his disposal. Last weekend, Victor Moses became the third player in as many weeks to suffer from hamstring injury after Morata and Kante. Conte, in his press conference before the Roma clash, said; “I have no choice but to pick the same squad in every match. These players are not well equipped with playing 3 matches in 8 days which then risks injuries.” It is evident that The Board at Chelsea has failed to get transfer targets to provide depth to squad for the last two seasons. Should Roman Abramovic sack the board instead of manager if Chelsea fail to win anything this season?

THE DEFENDING CHAMPIONS SYNDROME

Antonio Conte, who has never lost a league title in his managerial career, is having a strange start to the 2017-18 season at Chelsea. 8 games into the season, Chelsea currently sits 5th in the table with 13 points, 9 points adrift of table toppers Man City. While many Chelsea fans are already conceding the title to Manchester clubs, a more concerning question that clouds the Stamford Bridge is; 'Will Conte suffer the defending champions' syndrome'? Jose Mourinho won the title in 2014-15 and struggled and got sacked in the season after. Claudio Ranieri won the title with Leicester in 2015-16 and got sacked the season after. Will the poor start to the season cost Conte as well? Only time will tell...
